JoJo Billingsley (R.I.P.)

Deborah Jo "JoJo" Billingsley (May 28, 1952[1] – June 24, 2010) was an American singer, soloist, songwriter and recording artist. As a backing vocalist, Billingsley was best known for her work with the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. As one of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Honkettes, she toured with the band all over the world, from Japan to England.

This interview is with our friend, Jo Jo Billingsley, of the original LYNYRD SKYNYRD Band. Jo Jo has been instrumental in helping us with our "Freebird's Last Flight" presentation. Jo Jo has been to several prisons with us to share her life and testimony as well as songs to men serving time behind bars. I contacted the 700 Club to inquire if they would be interested in interview her --AND they were!

JoJo Billingsley, the former Lynyrd Skynyrd's honkette, has come back for some time in the music world, especially with a very good disc. We met her to discuss about it. But of course we have asked her about all her career and particularly about her saga with Lynyrd Skynyrd. An interesting light on this eventful life with these times of happiness and tragedy... A page in the history of rock and roll.
